The most common issue I have with my hearthlings is that they are set to mine/haul/etc and get in a priority loop doing that, followed by eating, drinking and sleeping, and not prioritizing their work. Having your hearthling doing nothing but their job with a completely clear workstation, and ready items in the clear should work, and if it doesn't may very well be bugged. If he still doesn't pick them up, move the workstation, or create a new one with NOTHING around it (again debug menu works great for this). If that does NOT happen, pause the game, make sure the resources needed for the task are on the ground, a chest, or stockpile with NOTHING around it so there is no chance it is blocked (you might want to use the debug menu with the stamper and just add the requisite number of items to somewhere close by for testing). He should go and pick up items, then go to the workstation and craft them, and you should see the status in the character sheet change as he does stuff (picking up item, eating, etc) and you will see if he flips jobs mid task, or what task he is prioritizing over working. Check to make sure the workstation is open.Īssign him a level 1 activity that ONLY requires him, his station, and something with minimal objects, like creating an herbalist sign.Ĭlick on him to see his activity, then unpause it and give it a few seconds to queue behind whatever he is already doing. So, after clearing EVERYTHING, he should be idle, or eating, etc. (Not having the first box ticked will sometimes make them not eat, so put that back on after troubleshooting your herbalist) Make sure in the job tab his only activity is his job, uncheck building, hauling etc. All of these, but also click the actual herbalist, it will tell you in his character screen what his current activity is.
